Make Google UK my homepage

If you live in or are simply visiting United Kingdom and use Google as your main search engine, then you would probably want to learn how to make Google United Kingdom (www.google.co.uk) your homepage and default search engine.

Customising your search engine and homepage has now become a must do and for over 18 months we have been helping various users from all over United Kingdom make the necessary changes to their browser with simple instructions and diagrams.

Step 1: Before you set Google United Kingdom as your default homepage, you need to to find out which browser you are using. The five main browsers (one of which you are probably using) are Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Apple Safari or Opera.

Step 2: Once you have this information select your browser from the links below and after a few easy steps (explained with pictures), Google United Kingdom will be set as your default homepage on your PC, laptop or mobile device.

Step 1 : Click the ‘Gear’ Icon

Click the icon to the far right of the web address  titled,’ customise and control Google Chrome’.

Step 2 : Select Settings

Scroll down to the bottom and select the ‘Settings’ option

Step 3 : Click Change

And go to ‘Appearance’ -> Tick the button that says ‘show homepage button’.  Click the ‘change’ link under the button

Step 4 : Set/Change the homepage

Select the ‘Open this page’  link  and simply type in the name of the url you want to set as your homepage.

Step 5 : OK Done!

Once done click OK and exit the setting window You will now see a home icon on the left hand side of your browser.

Step 1 : Click the ‘Firefox settings’ icon

Simply click on Firefox icon on the top right hand top corner of your browser window.

Step 2 : Options Tab

Select the options tab.

Step 3 : Set your new homepage

Select the ‘General’ you will see a fields called ‘Home Page’ where you can enter the homepage of your choice.

Step 4: Hurray! You are done. Let’s test it.

Now to check that your new homepage has now been set, simply shut down your browser by clicking the red ‘x’ icon on the top right of your browser screen. Once the browser has shut down, go to your desktop or programs menu and double click the explorer icon to open it again. This time your homepage will have changed to the website you set in the previous steps.

Step 1 : Click the ‘Gear’ Icon

You will find the small gear icon on the top right corner of the browser

Step 2 : A drop-down menu will appear

One of the options drop-down menu will say ‘Internet Options’.  Click it, and select it.#

Step 3 : Click the ‘General’ tab & set your Home page

Within the general tab, you will then see a place where you can set your homepage. Also don’t forget to click the ‘Start with homepage’ radio button in the ‘Startup’ section immediately below that.

Step 4: Hurray! You are done. Let’s test it.

Now to check that your new homepage has now been set, simply shut down your browser by clicking the red ‘x’ icon on the top right of your browser screen. Once the browser has shut down, go to your desktop or programs menu and double click the explorer icon to open it again. This time your homepage will have changed to the website you set in the previous steps.

Step 1 : Add a new start-up page bookmaker

click the [+] icon to add a new start-up page bookmarker.

Step 2 : Enter the name of the site you want to set

In the following window enter the website address www.(enter the name of the site you want to set here)

Step 3 : You’re Done!

An that’s it. You will now have the icon as one of your  ‘Speed Dial’ icons

Step 1 : Click the ‘Safari Preferences’ icon

Simply click on preferences icon on the top right hand top corner of your browser window.

Step 2 : Options Tab

Select the options tab.

Step 3 : Set your new homepage

Select the ‘General’ you will see a fields called ‘Home Page’ where you can enter the homepage of your choice.

Step 4: Hurray! You are done. Let’s test it.

    My laptop is running ASK and i want Google to be set as my home page. Please explain how I can do this.
